Meet the official cheer squad of the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships

DEE - CAPTAIN

 Dee - Captain
Hometown: Centennial, CO

Education: University of Colorado Boulder. GO BUFFS!

Occupation: My right-side brain loves to be immersed in the digital media world. I currently work in PR, social media, and content creating.

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: I started grooving in high school when I joined the poms team, followed by four years with the CU Dance Team. After dancing for the Buffs, I recently finished my rookie season with the Denver Outlaws Dancers and currently dancing with the Colorado Mammoth Wild Bunch!

Favorite Ski Racer: Mikaela Shiffrin is kind of a boss, and bonus that she’s a hometown rockstar for this event!

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I am so ecstatic about getting to witness the incredible talent, in the flesh! It is special to get to go through this experience with my teammates and perform in the snow!

What is your personal motto? “Work hard, play hard”! It’s like “YOLO”, but with a brain and accountability.

What do you love most about living in Colorado? Colorado is a good-looking state with all four seasons…and I’m a sucker for nice people and good sunshine.

Special Talents: I can make killer guacamole, come up with lame jokes, and speak fluent Cantonese.

 

MOLLY - CAPTAIN

Molly - Captain
Hometown: Vail, CO

Education: Oklahoma City University

Occupation: Professional Dancer

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: I started dance when I was three years old. Danced through high school and college. Graduated and traveled the world for two years dancing on three Princess Cruise Line ships.

Favorite Ski Racer: Lindsey Vonn

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? The things that excite me the most about the Championships is the fact that it’s in my hometown. I love where I have grown up my whole life and I’m so happy to be representing the USA. I grew up skiing on these mountains and it’s definitely a passion of mine besides dancing.

What is your personal motto? “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”.

What do you love most about living in Colorado? I love Colorado because of the nature. Being able to get up and go for a hike or go skiing up on a mountain just five minutes away. I love being close to my family and being in the place I grew up in.

Special Talents: Dancing (all styles), singing, acting, skiing, snowboarding, crocheting, and crafting.

 

ASHLEE

Ashlee
Hometown: Albuquerque, NM

Education: University of New Mexico

Occupation: Makeup Artist

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: 2 years as a New Mexico Thunderbirds Dancer, 1 year as a Colorado Mammoth Dancer, and 2 years as a Denver Nuggets Dancer.

Favorite Ski Racer: Bode Miller

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I am excited that for the first time since 1999 the event is being held here in the U.S.! Being apart of this event is a once in a life time opportunity and I can’t wait to see all the amazing athletes!

What is your personal motto? “Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

What do you love most about living in Colorado? The endless amount of fun that the Colorado Rockies have to offer!

Special Talents: Cooking, makeup artistry, and being athletic (I played eight different sports since the age of four).

 

ELLEN

Ellen
Hometown: Chicago, IL

Education: North Park University and Northwestern University

Occupation: Swimming Coach, Cardio Dance Instructor

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: 4 years Chicago Mustang Dancers (2 years as Captain), 1 year North Park University Cheerleading, 10,000 hours dancing in my kitchen (yes, exactly 10,000).

Favorite Ski Racer: Mikaela Shiffrin

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I am excited about the opportunity to watch world-class athletes do their thing!

What is your personal motto? “Be kind for everyone is fighting a hard battle.”

What do you love most about living in Colorado? My favorite part about living in Colorado is the 360 days a year of sun!

Special Talents: Target shooting, painting, and most importantly: bubble rings (a trick most swimmers have up their sleeve).

 

ERIN

Erin
Hometown: St. Louis, MO

Education: University of Nebraska and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill

Occupation: Finance Consultant

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: 3 years on the University of Nebraska Dance Team, 1 Season as an NBA Dancer with the Indiana Pacers, and 1 season as an NFL Cheerleader with the Carolina Panthers

Favorite Ski Racer: Bode Miller

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I feel so fortunate to be a part of this unique event and to witness all the diversity represented on the slopes!

What is your personal motto? No regrets! You only live once!

What do you love most about living in Colorado? The perfect weather in the summer.

Special Talents: I can juggle!…and I’m also pretty proud of my bowling skills.

 

GABBY

Gabby
Hometown: Vail, CO

Education: College of Charleston

Occupation: Dance Instructor for Celebrate the Beat, Sales Associate

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: I have been dancing since the age of 3 taking various types of dance including: ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, African, belly dance, and pom. I was on the Battle Mountain High School dance team (a local school here) growing up, and danced at the studio Dance FX in Charleston, SC throughout my college years

Favorite Ski Racer: Mikaela Shiffrin! Representing my hometown well!

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? That this brings together many countries and watching this all happen in my small hometown that I grew up in is very exciting!

What is your personal motto? Live, laugh, love!

What do you love most about living in Colorado? Aside from its obvious beauty the thing I like most is everyone here is genuinely nice.

 

HELENA

Helena
Hometown: Massillon, Ohio

Education: Ashland University

Occupation: Ski Tech at Venture Sports (Best Ski Company in the Valley!)

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: High School and College. This is my first professional experience!

Favorite Ski Racer: Bode Miller

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I’ve been hearing about this since I moved here and I’m ecstatic to be a part of it! My parents are also coming in to town and I can’t believe they actually get to experience this with me. I can’t wait!

What is your personal motto? “Let the past make you better, not bitter” My sister made this my motto senior year when I went through some rough times. It’s stuck with me since then.

What do you love most about living in Colorado? Snow! It’s why I moved out here.

Special Talents: I can touch my tongue to my nose. I can also win Finish the Lyric competitions that are all oldies songs while everyone I’m competing with grew up in that era.

Favorite Ski Racer: Our hometown star, Mikaela Shiffrin!

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? Just being a part of the Championships overall. I’m excited to witness the races and see the fans.

What is your personal motto? “Be like the sun and you shall warm the earth”.

What do you love most about living in Colorado? The scenery and the amazing outdoor recreations.

Special Talents: Being very good at DIY projects and I love making jewelry.

Pi
Hometown: Crested Butte, CO

Education: Arizona State University and University of Colorado Boulder

Occupation: Dance Teacher

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: My mother was a professional dancer in NY and California and taught me everything I know in her dance school. I’ve been dancing for 24 years, teaching for 13 and performing professionally for 13 as well. I went on a performing tour throughout Italy and have danced all over the United States at large events such as Electric Daisy Carnival, and the Indy 500. I am trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Go-go dancing, pole dancing, and fire poi.

Favorite Ski Racer: I got to go with the hometown favorite of Mikaela Shiffrin! Colorado Represent!

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? I am most excited to feel the energy coming off the mountain! With the excitement of the skiers and all the spectators, it’s going to be one great time!

What is your personal motto? “It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer!”

What do you love most about living in Colorado? I grew up high in the mountains here in Colorado in a small ski town called Crested Butte, so I love the fact that I can call it my home!

Special Talents: I am a lucid dreamer, meaning I realize when I’m dreaming, and I can do whatever I want. Usually once I realize it’s a dream I tell myself I can fly, and lo and behold I do! I will fly all around the city over parks and around buildings! It’s SO much fun!

 

ROCKSHANA

Rockshana
Hometown: Bridgeport, CT

Education: Long Island University

Occupation: Dancer/Choreographer

Cheerleader/Dance Experience: This is actually my first time as a cheerleader. I have been dancing for 11 years and have my BFA in dance.

What excites you most about the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships? Cheering on the sidelines and being in a new sport environment.

What do you love most about living in Colorado? I love the fact that it’s not as cold and snowy as the East coast.

Special Talents: Singing, modeling, and acting.
