The 2015 FIS Alpine world Ski Championships showcases a variety of world-class venues throughout the Vail Valley. Please review the venues below in Vail, Beaver Creek and Avon when planning your World Championships Experience.

Located at the base of Beaver Creek, Avon will serve as the post-race transition into Vail’s evening festivities, while also hosting the Main Accreditation Center for the Championships and the Media Hotel and Sub-Center.

From 3-5 p.m. each day of training or competition, Avon will host apres-race activities at the confluence of Plaza Way and Benchmark Road in the center of the town. Festivities will include daily live music, vendor booths, food and beverage opportunities and a variety of kids and family activities for race fans.

Beaver Creek is “Race Central” for the 2015 World Championships, with 10 of the 11 medal events hosted on the resort’s renowned Birds of Prey and Raptor racecourses. The Red Tail Stadium will be the place to be for race fans as an expansive stadium, complete with multiple large screens, public concessions and festive stadium activation awaiting both locals and guests. And, best of all, spectator access to the stadium is free for all races, with the bleachers filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Between seated and standing areas, the Red Tail Stadium will accommodate approximately 10,000 fans, with great views of both courses. ADA access to and from the stadium will be available.

Fans can access the Red Tail Stadium via the free shuttles from Vail, Avon and Beaver Creek, while also having the ability to ski or walk to the mid-mountain venue. Pre and post-race entertainment will bookend the racing action, with between-run festivities slated for the Super-Combined and technical race days.

Beaver Creek Village will add to the party atmosphere, both prior to and after the daily races, with entertainment, food and beverage specials and an international flavor that will make race fans feel right at home, no matter where they are from.

Located in the heart of Vail Village, Championships Plaza (formerly Solaris Plaza) will play host to the World Championships Opening Ceremony (February 2), along with the nightly Official Medal Presentations. In addition to the champions receiving their awards, each evening will also include a free concert, featuring a different headliner act, and spectacular light shows and fireworks displays. Championships Plaza will also feature numerous large screens that will carry all of the racing action during the day for those that can’t make it to Beaver Creek.

Vail Village will also serve as the hub of the majority of the national hospitality houses, while merchants, restaurants and bars will be offering World Championships specials, showcasing the best of the best of the Vail Valley.

While Vail Village will primarily serve as “Party Central” for the 2015 World Championships, Vail Mountain’s Golden Peak will also play hosting to select racing events, including the Nation’s Team Event (February 10) and the Men’s Giant Slalom and Slalom qualification competitions (February 12 and 14).
