Colorado Children’s Chorale to Perform National Anthems Live During World Championship Medal Presentations

The official medals presentation ceremonies of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships will take on an exciting new look and feel as the Colorado Children’s Chorale has agreed to sing the anthem of each gold-medal winning nation in that language each evening of the Championships.

Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Championships Plaza in the heart of Vail Village, the nightly presentations will celebrate the day’s top three race finishers as the FIS presents their gold, silver and bronze medals to the top competitors.  The festivities will also include free musical performances, light shows and fireworks.

In this regard, the Children’s Chorale has agreed to learn 14 anthems, along with a short list of potential others.  In addition, the Chorale has also agreed to serve as 2015 World Championships ambassadors to Vail Valley schools, providing free performances to area schools during the event.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Deborah DeSantis and Executive Director Diane Newcom, the Colorado Children’s Chorale annually trains 500 members between the ages of 7 and 14 from all ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds representing more than 180 schools in the Denver metro area and beyond.
