Final Message

Dear Ski Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and all 2,200 volunteers of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, I want express our sincere appreciation and thanks to everyone that participated in any form or fashion in the 2015 Championships.

The athletic performances were truly inspiring, the energy and enthusiasm of the fans that packed the Red Tail Stadium, lined the race courses each day  and celebrated the athletic achievements each night at Championships Plaza was incredible, while the broadcast and media coverage of the competitions and our community was unprecedented.

When we were awarded the 2015 World Championships five years ago, we set the theme of Dream It. Live It. Share It.  We are proud to have been able to complete all three of these tasks with the help of our many partners and friends.

These Championships were first and foremost about the athletes and our sport.  Their incredible performances helped us showcase the drama, excitement and fun of alpine ski racing with an entirely new generation, while the nightly celebrations painted a festive backdrop to the racing action.

Special thanks go out to our tremendous team of partners, including the FIS, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, Vail Resorts, Tridem Sports AG, Eurovision Production Coordination, the 15er’s volunteer corps and our Vail Valley community.  Thanks also to all of you that shared the 2015 World Championships via this website, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

We are truly blessed to have been able to serve as host of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.  Best of luck to all of the athletes for the remainder of the World Cup season, all the best to St. Moritz 2017 for their planning and preparation, and thank you for Dreaming, Living and Sharing the 2015 World Championships with us.

And please do not become strangers! Follow us at vvf.org and bcworldcup.com and we’ll see you in December for the Birds of Prey World Cup!

Sincerely,

Ceil Folz

President
